This sweet Art Nouveau ring is literally made from the nectar of the gods, a beautiful Calla Lily to wrap around your finger.
A flower named after the Greek word for beautiful - calla. Legend goes that Zeus brought Hercules, his son from another woman, to Hera, his wife, while she was asleep to drink her milk.
When she awoke she pushed him away and drops of milk flew across the sky to form the Milky Way. The ones that fell on the ground grew into beautiful lilies. When Venus, goddess of love, beauty and desire saw the lilies she became jealous of their beauty and cursed them by placing a large yellow pistil in the middle of the flowers. Because of this story the calla lily is associated with Venus and thus with lust, sexuality and desire.
The calla lily also symbolises faithfulness and purity, which is perhaps the most common meaning of this flower, but how wonderful to think they were made from the nectar of the gods and of the same stuff that made the Milky Way.
The ring itself is 10k gold and one of a one of a kind, it has a sparkly glass crystal paste stone in the middle of the flower and it is a rare piece that was converted from an antique Art Nouveau stick pin.
Because of the design of the ring it can be adjustable to different sizes but please contact us for more details if your size is very different to the one stated.
