Cast from one of the rarest and unique Victorian stick pins that I have ever set my eyes upon. This little charm features a beguiling snake coiled around a magical crescent moon. The snake is divinely detailed and holds a small golden orb in its mouth.
Charged with symbolism, crescent moons in Victorian jewellery often represented spirituality, the mystery of feminine energy and cyclical change, whilst the Victorian serpent was a symbol of rebirth, wisdom and eternity.
Both represent transformation and renewal. The snake shedding its skin to reveal a new being underneath, similar to the moon’s waxing and waning interpreted as a symbol of the constant ebb and flow of life.
The Moon Snake charm measures approximately 1cm.
